For UK principal contractors, environmental managers and QS teams

Log it on site.
Report it at tender.

VerdCore turns the records you already keep — fuel deliveries, waste transfer notes, water readings, site inspections, evidence photos — into DEFRA-based carbon figures and the documents a client, planning authority or framework asks for: PAS 2080, PPN 06/21 Carbon Reduction Plans, biodiversity net gain and your SWMP figures.

Compliance duties sit with the principal contractor. VerdCore produces the evidence and does the arithmetic — it does not discharge the duty, and no software can.

DEFRA/DESNZ 2025 & 2026 factor sets
PAS 2080:2023
Statutory Biodiversity Metric v1.0.4
Early access — UK construction
Dashboard — the VerdCore dashboard: 113.78 tonnes of CO2e tracked, an emissions breakdown by fuel, materials and transport, and a Scope 1/2/3 split

Sample data — modelled, not a customer site.

DEFRA 2026 factors, with the arithmetic shown on every figure

Emits PAS 2080, PPN 06/21 and statutory BNG documents

Photo, invoice, GPS and timestamp attached to the record

What gets logged on site
is what appears in the report

A red diesel delivery. A skip collection and its transfer note. A water meter reading. A walk-round with photographs. Each is logged once, against a site and a date.

VerdCore applies the DEFRA factor set current for that date and carries the result through to whichever document needs it — so the figure in your PAS 2080 report, your PPN 06/21 plan and your SECR return is the same figure, and you can show where it came from.

Log

On site, from a phone. Works without signal; entries sync when you have one.

Calculate

Factor chosen by activity type and date — not by whoever is doing the spreadsheet.

Issue

Generate the document the client asked for, with the figures already in it.

The documents you can hand over

Each is generated from the entries against the site. Nothing is re-keyed.

Carbon Summary
Site totals by fuel, material and transport, with the trend across the period.
PAS 2080:2023 report
Scope 1, 2 and 3 set out in the carbon management structure the standard uses.
PPN 06/21 Carbon Reduction Plan
The format required for central government contracts above £5m a year.
Full ESG report
Emissions, waste, water, biodiversity and targets, for clients who ask for one document.
Biodiversity net gain
Defra Statutory Biodiversity Metric v1.0.4. Area habitats, hedgerows and watercourses are reported separately, because the metric does not permit them to be added together.
Waste
Transfer notes and consignment notes held against the site, with recycling rate and the figures a SWMP needs.

SWMPs stopped being a legal requirement in England in 2013. They are still written into contracts, so the figures are there when a client asks.

embodied carbon, a Scope 1/2/3 breakdown table and a benchmarking table.

This is the actual output

Not a mock-up. The page opposite is a PDF this app generated, on the same code path your Download button runs.

The site is modelled — there is no customer behind it. The quantities are invented; the emissions are not. Every figure is computed from the DESNZ/Defra factor set for the date of each entry, so the arithmetic holds if you check it.

Everything construction teams need
to manage environmental compliance

Log it on site, attach the evidence, calculate on DEFRA factors, issue the certificate a client asks for. Each area below is a place records go in and documents come out.

Carbon management
Log fuel, materials and transport on DEFRA factors — live Scope 1/2/3 dashboards for every site.
Environmental Management Plans
A live EMP covering waste, noise, air quality, water and biodiversity — reviewed and versioned per site.
Site inspections
Scheduled and ad-hoc walk-rounds with pass/fail checks, photo evidence and assigned corrective actions.
Waste tracking
Track waste by type and route — automatic Scope 3c and SWMP, recycling rate built in.
Water tracking
Consumption, recycling, discharge and rainwater harvesting per site.
Biodiversity Net Gain
Defra’s Statutory Biodiversity Metric, to model your 10% net gain position.
Evidence library
Every record carries its own photo, invoice or licence. Search every project's evidence in one place instead of six folders.
Carbon Reduction Plans
PPN 06/21 tender-ready plans for public sector bids, plus a broader corporate plan to track your own net zero targets.
Environmental KPIs Business
Carbon, waste, water, incidents and compliance metrics across every site — at a glance, trending up or down.
AI recommendations
AI suggestions to cut carbon, with cost and CO₂e impact.
Supply chain ESG Business
Suppliers complete a short questionnaire — no account needed — and get an instant Carbon/Waste/BNG score and risk rating.
Reports & certificates
PAS 2080, BNG, Site Compliance and more — 9 certificates ready to attach to a tender or hand to a client.

Replace spreadsheets with VerdCore

Everything you're already trying to track in scattered files, unified into one auditable system.

Spreadsheets
VerdCore
Factors looked up by hand
Calculated on DEFRA factors
A file per client, per year
One record per site
Reports rebuilt by hand each time
Reports issued from the entries
Evidence hunted for at audit
Evidence attached to the entry
One person holds the spreadsheet
The site team logs it directly

Where the numbers come from

Emission factors are transcribed from the DESNZ/Defra full conversion factor workbook, read from the source sheets rather than from a third-party summary.

Both sides of the same project

Whether you are delivering the work or asking for proof of it, the record is the same one.

You have no compliance department

One person can run carbon, waste, water and biodiversity records for a handful of sites without it becoming their job. Log it on the phone at the gate; issue the report when the client asks.

You need comparable data from every subcontractor

Instead of chasing a dozen spreadsheets in a dozen formats, send suppliers a short questionnaire they answer without an account, and hold the returns against the site they relate to.

How to start

1
Add a site
Name, type, start and end dates, contract value.
2
Log what you already have
Fuel dockets, transfer notes, meter readings. Backdated entries use the factor set for their own date, so last quarter stays last quarter.
3
Generate the document
The one the client asked for.
